Troubleshooting
Diagnose queue, encoder, readiness, relinking, recovery, profile, and installer problems.
The queue is empty
Enable at least one shot, assign a profile through the shot, plan, or project, and select a plan. A render-only run also requires a sequence and at least one project output profile.
A format fails preflight
Read the adjacent diagnostic. Linux requires VP8 WebM for movies. Windows ARM64 cannot encode ProRes. Audio must be mono or stereo. HDRP AOV requires HDRP.
Readiness times out
Inspect every named probe, increase the timeout only if the condition legitimately needs more time, and keep the stable-ready duration long enough to reject transient readiness. Retry after correcting the state; do not remove readiness merely to hide a real race.
Media is offline
Relink the clip. Keep exact-hash matching enabled when restoring the same source. Disable it only after intentionally reviewing replacement media. Rebuildable cache invalidation is automatic after relink.
A run was interrupted
Open Review, select the interrupted run, and choose Restore selected run. The restoration receipt lists restored state and warnings. Do not delete Library/KiwiCaptureStudio/Recovery before recovery.
A profile update is unavailable
The built-in catalog remains usable offline. Confirm network access only if you explicitly chose the update action. Authentication, schema, signature, size, and hash failures make no project changes.
Installation is blocked
Use the installer’s exact diagnostic. Modified, corrupt, identity-mismatched, or newer-incompatible packages are intentionally not replaced without an explicit repair decision.
Still stuck?
Bring the run receipt with you.
Include the Capture Studio version, Unity version, operating system, render pipeline, Recorder version, output profile, receipt, restoration status, and a minimal reproduction.
