Getting started
Installation
Install and verify Capture Studio and its pinned Release Core dependency.
Requirements
- Unity
6000.0.0f1or later in the supported Unity 6 matrix - Unity Recorder
5.1.6 - Unity Timeline
1.8.13 - the exact bundled internal Release Core
26.8.5dependency pinned bypackage.json
The traditional marketplace package imports a temporary bootstrap under Assets/KiwiStudios/ReleaseInstaller. The bootstrap authenticates its manifest and payload, stages Core and Capture Studio, backs up existing compatible installations, replaces stale package directories, asks Package Manager to resolve once, verifies registration and exact bytes later, and removes itself after success. A failed transaction restores the complete prior state.
Modified, corrupt, identity-mismatched, or newer-incompatible package directories are never silently replaced. The installer reports the exact state and offers an explicit repair path.
Verify the installation
- Wait for Package Manager and script compilation to finish.
- Open Tools > Kiwi Studios > Capture Studio.
- Confirm the header reports
Ready — offline, local, no uploads. - Create a Studio Project or import the Production Workflow sample.
Do not move files from the package into Assets. User-authored Studio Project assets belong in the project. Rebuildable proxies, thumbnails, waveforms, render caches, staging files, and recovery journals remain under Library/KiwiCaptureStudio.
