Upgrading
Upgrade Asset Swap and compatible Core while preserving plans, receipts, and recovery data.
- Commit or back up the Unity project.
- Finish or resolve every incomplete Asset Swap transaction.
- Keep saved plan assets and
Library/KiwiStudios/AssetSwap/Transactionsuntil the upgrade is validated. - Update Asset Swap and its compatible Release Core together.
- Allow Package Manager to finish resolution and script compilation.
- Open Asset Swap and review the Capabilities foldout.
- Rerun Preview before applying any previously exported plan.
Plan, preview, and receipt schema version 1 reject unsupported future schema versions rather than guessing. Never edit a receipt or backup set by hand.
The traditional installer fully replaces stale Asset Swap directories, upgrades an older compatible Core, and preserves an exact or newer compatible verified Core. It restores the prior package state if registration or post-reload verification fails. Modified or corrupt Core installations block before mutation and require the explicit repair action; no package is merged file by file.
